Exploring the Majestic Loire Valley
I've been a van tripper for several years now, and one of my favorite destinations has to be the Loire Valley in France. The region is famous for its rolling hills, vineyards, and, of course, its stunning castles. And what better way to experience it all than from the comfort of a van?
I rented a Mercedes Marco polo Van and set out on a week-long adventure, stopping at small villages and taking my time to enjoy the scenery. I was amazed by the beauty of the area, with its picturesque towns and rolling hills dotted with vineyards. Every other day, I'd find a villages to park my van and a wine shop to do wine tasting of local wine.
One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to Château de Chambord, one of the largest and most recognizable castles in the Loire Valley. The castle was built in the 16th century and its architectural style is a mix of Renaissance and medieval elements. I was able to park my van just a short walk away and spend the whole day exploring the castle and its beautiful grounds.
Another memorable experience was a scenic drive along the Loire River, which runs through the heart of the valley. I stopped at several villages along the way, taking my time to wander through their narrow streets and quaint markets. One of the villages was a troglodyte village, where house are carved into the rock.
Overall, my van trip through the Loire Valley was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic holiday. Whether you're a seasoned van tripper or a first-timer, the area has something to offer everyone.
